ITINERARY
Another remarkable aspect that enhances the allure of Koon 9 as an enticing choice is its array of itinerary options. You’re empowered to tailor your experience with options spanning 2 days and 1 night (overnight excursions), 3 days and 2 nights, or extended 4-day and 4-night journeys. Moreover, the flexibility extends to the start of your adventure, aligning with your vacation timetable. This seamless scheduling is made possible by Koon 9’s departure from Khao Lak nearly every Wednesday evening. For these specific trips, participants revel in a comprehensive four-day and four-night voyage, encompassing up to 15 exhilarating dives. The return voyage takes place via a speedboat transfer on late Sunday afternoon.
For those opting for the 2-day/1-night or 3-day/2-night expeditions, the journey commences in the morning from Khao Lak via speedboat. The initial and final days are distinguished by a trifecta of dives each, finely bookending the voyage before the return via speedboat. The 3-day/2-night itinerary, in particular, carves out the opportunity for up to four dives on the middle day of the expedition, intensifying the underwater exploration experience.

On Wednesday, Koon 9 Returns to Tub-lamu pier for re-fueling, taking on water and regular maintenence. It is possible to join the trip on the Wednesday evening at around 10pm, enjoy a leasurly cruise to the Similan Islands, setle in to your comfy cabin and have an early morning dive at Island Number 4, before the crowds arrive. All this for just +2000thb.

INFORMATION
The 52-meter MV Koon9 is a custom-built, steel-hulled Similan, Surin, and Phi Phi Island liveaboard. Offering two-day, one-night trips from June to September at Phi Phi Island and one-day trips with liveaboard from October to May to some of the best Similan dive sites, as well as Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon, and Koh Tachai.
All cabins have air conditioning. Cabins are private ensuites with hot water, charging ports, fresh towels, and ample storage space. There are also eight bathrooms with hot water at the back of the boat. We provide you with eco-friendly products to use in the bathrooms, so we do not pollute the reefs around the islands. The boat is equipped with all the necessary safety features, including emergency oxygen and an extensive first aid kit, as well as a life raft, life jackets, and fire extinguishers.
The upper deck of the boat has an indoor saloon with air conditioning, sofas, and an entertainment system. On the same level, you will find the dining area, where all our delicious meals are served. All food is served buffet-style and includes both local Thai dishes and western food. Don’t miss out on our freshly brewed coffee, which is a favorite among coffee lovers. Cookies, fresh fruit, tea, coffee, and drinking water are available all day. On the top level of the boat, you will find our huge sundeck, which is partly covered, and comfortable mattresses to relax on in between the dives.
The MV Koon9 has a very experienced 15-boat crew and a captain with experience in the Andaman Sea. The tour leaders are all Similan veterans with multiple years of experience working with us; they are so experienced that you can dive in knowing you are in good hands. Our instructors and divemasters are local Thais and various western dive professionals, all experienced tutors and dive guides.
M/V Koon9 Liveaboard takes great pride in the huge dive platform located at the back of the boat, which boasts a wide and spacious kitting up area on two levels, 2 exit ladders with 2 freshwater showers to rinse yourself or your equipment after diving, and also 4 large buckets with fresh water for rinsing cameras and personal dive equipment.
Concluding the vessel’s offerings, the top deck of Koon 9 presents an open expanse for sun-seeking, panoramic vistas, stargazing, or simply relishing the wind’s caress alongside friends with refreshing drinks in hand. This area features an arrangement of sun loungers, plush seating, and pockets of shaded retreat.
